With increasing tourism development, the Surfcamp has aimed to take their fare share of responsibility during these times of change and the Surfcamp Lombok Foundation was founded in 2009 with the aim to strenghten the local community.

The children were divided into two teams to compete in a garbage hunt. Both teams were given one big plastic bag and within ten minutes both bags were full! This followed by an educational game with the aim to learn the difference between organic and non-organic waste.
Once back at the surfcamp, the bags of waste were sorted and we talked about how many years it would take for the different materials to decompose.
